What we've been up to

Last weekend Mark's dad, Terry aka Grandpops, drove Mary Sue up to stay for the week. While he was here he and Mark went to purchase the swing set we have been planning to buy since May. When Parker found it is was in the garage (to wait until Uncle Joseph got here to help put it together) he decided it needed to be put together that day. So Mark and Terry got most of it done and then Mark worked on it Sunday until he realized that there were a couple of pieces missing.

so the kids have been sliding all week and are excited to have the swing part to play on too. Parker and Maryn hold hands and slide down next to each other when they are playing sweetly!

Emma at 5 weeks. At her 1 month appointment which was yesterday she weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces (90th percentile) and is 22 1/2 inches long (95th percentile).

Parker and Cam, his best buddy. Emily and I are not above dressing them alike but this day Cam came over already dressed just like Parker.

My little hoot. She likes wearing Mommy's owl shirt.

Any given Sunday... I don't know if you can see it but Parker's lawn mower has a grocery bag attached to the back of it because he wanted "a bag like Daddy's" to put the grass clippings in.

Lots and Lots of Firetrucks

My little fire fighter with his fire hydrant and hose.

Parker's newest obsession is firetrucks. "Mommy, lets talk about firetrucks." I hear this in the car, at nap time, dinner... How much can you really talk about firetrucks?? When Mary Sue was here when Emma was born she and Parker discovered the firetruck videos on youtube. One in particular was promoting a DVD with a very catchy tune, Lots and Lots of Firetrucks. For a solid two weeks I had that song on my mind- even while nursing Emma in the middle of the night. Friday Grandma and Grandpops came for another visit and brought Parke a surprise. Lots and Lots of Firetrucks! Parker watches it every chance he gets. So while we're home all day with the kids Mary Sue and I are singing this song, out loud and in our heads. It really is a cute video and very informative for kids and has a very addictive theme song. Check it out if you dare... Lots and Lots of Firetrucks

One Month

I can't believe Emma is one month old today. On one hand it seems like forever since she's been here and on the other hand it seems like just yesterday we were at the hospital. Parker and Maryn continue to love on her, sometimes a little too much! I told Parker that today was her birthday so we sang to her many times and even had brownies with candles for dessert tonight.

Emma had been very fussy last weekend and I was concerned she had reflux just like Parker and Maryn. I took her to the doctor last week (9 pounds and 5 oz) and she is now on Prevacid. It is really helping her eating and sleeping. She is much more comfortable and even slept last night from 10 pm to 5 am before waking up to eat! What a blessing for a mom who has to wake up at 7 to tend to two other very needy young children! Emma is a wonderful, sweet addition to our family and I am so excited to see who she becomes.

Been so long...

Who's Who?? You can tell by the hat and the blankets which baby is which but can you pick out each baby? Do Emma and Maryn look alike? There is one pose Emma has when she is sound asleep and stretches her neck and head back... she looks just like Parker to me.

Bath Time...

Emma's first bath at home

I know this is not a very interesting post but I figured I had better get something up soon before family revolted! Things are going well here- of course I have had a LOT of help. Mary Sue, Grandma, was here for a week after Emma came home, Mark was home for a week, I had three days by myself and then my mom, Mae-Mae, came for a week. Thanks to everyone- and to all those who have fed my family too! And Mary Sue is coming back! Yeah for help and extra hands! I have a horrible cough that will not seem to go away and comes with a vengence when I try to sleep so I am behind on the rest. I took Emma to the doctor earlier this week because she has reflux. What's a mom to do when each time she nurses her baby cries? Prevacid to the rescue! So far three is not so bad... but you shouldn't call and ask me how its going at 5 pm!!
